Commentarii Roamani Hello Roamans! This week we are looking at CAPTURR by Paul Giffiths, a native iOS app that sends notes, todos, voice memos, and scanned documents to your Roam graph from your phone. CAPTURRCAPTURR is a smooth native iOS app that sends notes, todos, voice memos, and scanned documents to your Roam graph. It is built for speed and works offline, which means you can capture something on the subway or in a room with bad signal and it will sync when you are back online. SetupTo get started, download the app from the App Store. CAPTURR is free, collects no data, and nothing leaves your device except what you send to your graph. Then, paste in a Roam Research API token from your graph settings. You will need one append API token, and one backend (read+edit) API token that you will input in the settings (both can be easily found in Roam by going to Settings, then Graph, then New API Token). You can also play around with the additional settings, but for now, you're all set! What it doesYou can capture four types of content:
There is a dedicated TODO view inside the app where you can manage tasks pulled from your graph, organize them into sections with custom filters, and see a badge count for outstanding items. Everything can go to your Daily Notes or to a specific page of your choice, with optional blocks, tags, and timestamps. CAPTURR also comes with home screen and lock screen widgets for one-tap capture, and you can share URLs or text from any other app directly into your graph or into Roam Reader (check out our newsletter on Roam Reader!) Check out the great video that Paul Giffiths made to demonstrate his app for more information 👇 This Month's Quality of Life Improvements 🐣

Commentarii Roamani Hello Roamans! This edition covers two extensions we haven't seen yet that pair well for reading and research in Roam. The first, Object Metadata Autocomplete by Vlad Sitalo, builds structured reference pages from a single search. The second, Meta Type by Ryan Sonnek, gives any page a visible type and a panel of the fields you care about. Reminder: To install an extension, go to the left sidebar, and open Roam Depot. Search for the extension and click Install. Each...
Commentarii Roamani Hello Roamans! The community has been building a lot lately and we have several new extensions to cover in the coming weeks. We are starting today with Chief of Staff by Mark Lavercombe. Roam Depot Gems: Chief of Staff Chief of Staff is an AI assistant that lives inside your Roam graph. You talk to it through a chat panel in the corner of your screen, and it reads your notes, manages your tasks, and connects to outside tools like Gmail and Google Calendar. Keep reading to...
Commentarii Roamani Hello Roamans! In this issue, we’re introducing Callouts: styled blocks with their own icons and colors for marking up tips, warnings, questions, and anything else that shouldn't get lost in the page. Plus a few quality of life fixes. Callouts‼️ Callouts are built on [[Blockquote]]s, but with a type-specific icon and color that sets them apart visually. To create one, start a block with [[>]] [[!NOTE]] (or the shorthand > [!NOTE]). The first line becomes the title, and you...
